Hand-Picked Celebrants Crafting Unforgettable Memories for Weddings in Auckland

Gabrielle Pritchar
I like to add humour and fun and I like to make this day as stress free as possible for you and your partner.
I am a down-to-earth wedding celebrant based in Onehunga, I specialise in small, intimate weddings and I am available to couples who are looking for a low-key, personable celebrant who offers a zero-stress approach.
Your Celebrant, Unscripted
- Coffee order?
Flat white
- Favourite ceremony moment ever?
One couple rode in on bicycles together, in a beautiful garden setting. I love an unusual arrival!
- Most unusual/funny request from a couple?
I had a couple where they both walked down the aisle in turn with their own son. But that’s not that unusual. I mean, why not? I’m not one to judge, it’s all about your day - not me. There’s a few rules (which I’ll steer you on) but otherwise you can make the day your own.
- What’s playing as the couple walks down the aisle in your dream wedding?
What I would choose for myself would be something I’ve never heard anyone suggest and is off the usual menu - ask me about it! I have a playlist of 60 songs and counting from every era and genre to give my couples some ideas if they’re stuck!
- If you were a wedding cake, what flavour would you be?
Chocolate - always and forever
- What’s your celebrant superpower?
Capturing the vibe of the couple and helping them find just the right words for them and their unique day.
- What wedding cliché do you secretly love?
Speeches- either in the ceremony or at the reception. You never know what people are going to say! They can be hilarious and unexpected - most people rise to the challenge. Sometimes there’s the odd cringe moment which you can’t predict. Choose speakers wisely.
- Dream celebrity couple you’d love to marry?
Any musician would be great as music is so important for a great wedding. Maybe Florence (and the Machine) with her chosen beau.
Why I become a celebrant?
It all kicked off for me when my friends asked me to be their celebrant. I was flattered and a little daunted with the responsibility. But I took a deep breath and jumped in. And I loved it. A courtyard overlooking the Mediterranean brimming with love and excitement, with wonderful words,
tears of joy, laughter, music and sunshine. Not to mention the flowers and fabulous frocks. What’s not to love? It was also a profound experience,
sending me in a new direction.
I love celebrations, love people and love a good story. That’s why I’m so happy to have the chance to craft, share and celebrate the life-changing
moments of the people I meet.
My Celebrant Style
I work with couples to match their style. That’s the whole point of the role of celebrant. I’m a conduit and a guide to help you have the day you want. We can work that out together.
– Three words that best describe my vibe
WORDSMITH, STORYTELLER, PARTY ENTHUSIAST
– A random fun fact about me
I’m into clouds. I’m a member of the cloud appreciation society: life’s most accessible living art form.
– What do you love most about weddings?
As a celebrant I love that I get to hear people’s stories: how they met, their life together so far and their dreams for the future. That’s a special gift they share with me and I love helping them create a bespoke ceremony that’s like no other.
