Hand-Picked Celebrants Crafting Unforgettable Memories for Weddings in Auckland
Your Celebrant, Unscripted
. Coffee order?
Flat white until noon … then it’s about the espresso until 4pm. After that… I switch to wine.
- Favourite ceremony moment ever?
A shy little boy who kept edging closer and closer and closer to me during the ceremony … until he finally decided the best spot was hiding under my dress. Very funny.
- Most unusual/funny request from a couple?
To swim from Takapuna to Rangitoto, then marry them on the beach in our wetsuits (I am an ocean swimmer). So we did it a 6km swim, someone handed me my celebrant book as I got out of the water at the shore, 40 guests arrived by boat, 12 of us swam, and only the three of us stayed in our wetsuits. It was absolutely wild … and totally unforgettable.
- What’s playing as the couple walks down the aisle in your dream wedding?
A loud banger that everyone wants to sing and dance to. LOUD !!
- If you were a wedding cake, what flavour would you be?
Raspberry and lemon – tangy and unexpected
or coffee and hazelnut – Sweet, nutty and addictive
- What’s your celebrant superpower?
I often pick up on unspoken cues and can tell what someone needs before they say it.
- What wedding cliché do you secretly love?
Honestly? I love them all. The vows, the rings, the tears, the laughter … I’m there for every single one. But my absolute favourite? When a dad, mum, or that one special person walks the bride or groom up the aisle. The pride and joy in that moment gets me every time.
- Dream celebrity couple you’d love to marry?
I’m a total literature nerd, so my fantasy list includes some iconic writers and thinkers.
• Salman Rushdie and his wife — vow renewals.
• Stephen Fry and his partner — a wedding or vow renewals.
• Barack and Michelle Obama — vow renewals
Margaret Attwood, Kazuo Ishiguro, Haruki Murakami etc….. etc…….
Why I become a celebrant?
As funny as it sounds … it kind of happened by accident. I was at a wedding where the Celebrant was fine …. but they made a few noticeable mistakes. Sitting there, I thought to myself: “Hang on … I could do this, and maybe even do it better.”

So I went home, did a bit of Googling, and before I knew it I was sitting in front of the Registrar having an interview. It was like all these little pieces fell into place at once.

And then …… I absolutely fell in love with it. Truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made .
-
What’s my ceremony style? (e.g., relaxed, romantic, laugh-out-loud, short and sweet…)
My ceremony style is warm, inclusive, and heartfelt. I like to blend a little bit of everything, emotion, humour, and storytelling to create a ceremony people genuinely love to be part of.

If I had to simplify what I do, it’s this: I make people walk away wishing they were getting married … or getting married all over again.
-
Three words that best describe my vibe
Warm, Authentic & Fun
-
A random fun fact about me
I truly sometimes think I can speak ‘dog’ .. they seem to get what I’m on about.
-
What do I love most about weddings?
I love the whole ritual — the anticipation, the excitement, the joy that fills the air. I love the investment people make in love, and the atmosphere that comes with it. I love the emotion, the laughter, and the beautiful moment when two families join to become one big family.
Most of all, I just love love.
3. Ceremony Types Offered Quickly show what’s on offer.
- What key ceremonies do I offer? (E.g., legal weddings, elopements, vow renewals, naming ceremonies, funerals, themed weddings, surprise weddings…)
I offer a wide range of ceremonies, from traditional, same sex weddings, to the wonderfully unique. These include legal weddings, elopements, vow renewals, naming ceremonies and funerals. I also love working on themed weddings, surprise weddings, and any celebration that calls for something a little different and unique.
- Any specialty or unique ceremony types? (Cultural, bilingual, dog-friendly, Star Wars-themed?)
Bilingual, cultural, second and third time rounders, dog-friendly … basically animal-friendly full stop. Whatever your gig is ……. it becomes my gig. I’ve yet to meet a ceremony I couldn’t handle though I definitely draw the line at singing … I’m truly terrible.
